Fohs Hall, Inc. and The Tapestry Announce Landmark Artistic Residency at Historic Fohs Hall
MARION, KY — Fohs Hall, Inc. and The Tapestry are pleased to announce a new, long-term artistic residency that establishes historic Fohs Hall as the creative home of The Tapestry’s growing family of artists and live performance experiences.
The partnership formalizes a relationship that has flourished for nearly a decade. Since its founding in 2016, Fohs Hall has served as the beta test site and launch pad for nearly every major production The Tapestry has created. Some of the performing arts collective’s most ambitious concepts have been imagined, developed, refined, and premiered on the Fohs Hall stage before reaching audiences throughout the region.
Beginning this season, that creative relationship enters a new chapter in the form of a residency, marked by quarterly offerings by The Tapestry, designed to stake Fohs Hall’s and the Marion community’s claim as a regional center for performing arts while providing The Tapestry with a nurturing and supportive home for artistic development.
“Our organizations share a belief that great communities deserve great art,” the two organizations said in a joint statement. “This residency creates consistency, continuity, and a creative rhythm for The Tapestry while giving Marion and Western Kentucky the opportunity to claim these unforgettable productions as their own, staged and presented at a cherished historic civic center that has been the cultural heartbeat of the community of Marion for a century. We want our people to experience them first, help shape them, celebrate them, and proudly send them out into the region and beyond.”
The residency will feature (at least) four signature events each year, cooperatively presented and promoted by The Tapestry and Fohs Hall, Inc. Programming will span the full breadth of the company’s creative work, including its ever-growing repertoire of acclaimed tribute shows (Dark Side of the Moon, Abbey Road, MTV Unplugged, etc.) as well as providing a consistent home for The Tapestry’s burgeoning portfolio of projects (Small Batch, CTRL+ALT+DEL, Thread Count, Remove the Veil!, etc.)
For Fohs Hall, the residency represents another milestone in its mission to preserve and activate one of Western Kentucky’s most treasured historical sites and community centers.
Rather than serving solely as a rental facility, Fohs Hall continues its evolution as a creative incubator where artists can develop ambitious new work, collaborate across disciplines, and present world-class performances in the heart of downtown Marion.
Together, Fohs Hall, Inc. and The Tapestry envision a partnership that extends well beyond the stage. The residency seeks to enrich Marion’s already thriving arts scene, attract visitors from throughout Western Kentucky and the surrounding region, support local artists and businesses, and reinforce the city’s reputation as a destination for exceptional live performance.
The vision is both simple and ambitious: to launch The Tapestry from Marion into the region—and to bring the region to Marion through the doors of Fohs Hall.
As this new chapter begins, both organizations invite audiences, artists, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners to become part of a residency that celebrates creativity, strengthens community, and demonstrates what can happen when an historic venue and an innovative arts collective share a common purpose.
